How to Write a Helpful Google Review
A good Google review has a few key ingredients that make it trustworthy, useful, and engaging for both the business and future customers. Here’s what makes one stand out:
1. Specific Details
Mention which class(es) you attend.
Share details that stand out (e.g., the friendliness of staff, cleanliness, unique classes).
Avoid being too vague like “It was great”—instead, say “The teacher took time to explain what to expect before class, which made me feel comfortable as a beginner.”
2. Balanced & Honest
Highlight what you genuinely like.
If there’s room for improvement, mention it politely and constructively.
3. Personal Experience
Write from your own perspective, not generalizations.
Example: “I’ve tried other studios, but here I felt welcomed right away.”
4. Tone
Keep it authentic, positive, and professional.
Enthusiasm is great, but exaggerations like “best place in the entire world ever!!” can feel less credible.
5. Length
A few sentences is usually best (3–6 sentences).
Too short = not helpful. Too long = people won’t read it.
6. Keywords (Optional Bonus)
If natural, mention what people might be searching for (hot yoga, Original Hot Yoga, Bikram yoga, hot Pilates, Inferno Hot Pilates).
This makes the review more discoverable.
Google Review Template
Start with how you felt before coming in:
“I was looking for a place to…”
“I was nervous/excited to try…”
Share your experience:
“The class/instructor/staff made me feel…”
“What I loved most was…”
Highlight something specific:
Clean studio, friendly staff, clear instructions, challenging workout, welcoming community, etc.
End with your recommendation:
“I’d recommend this studio to anyone who…”
“If you’re looking for [stress relief / strength / flexibility], this is the place!”
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
