Meet Your Teachers

  • I was introduced to Yoga at SAC in 2004. I took it as a PE credit, learning many of the poses at that time. I also began to attend classes regularly, with a friend. Yoga and I just clicked. It was all about the practice itself that got me hooked. I even thought, “I can teach Yoga… I’m athletic, spiritual, and I want to help people!” That idea sat for years. It wasn’t until I graduated from Texas State and had been in the corporate world a while, when I stumbled upon a flyer for teacher training that would be on weekends, spread out over six months. I could work and train. Yes!

I received my 200hr teacher certificate in 2012. The timing was perfect. It had been a year since a rough break up, and I had been having stomach issues. I started training with a broken heart, esophagitis, a hiatal hernia, and gastritis, and I came out feeling freed, with no symptoms or stress. All my ailments were gone.

Through years of practice, continued study, and a couple thousand hours of teaching, yoga has become a great part of my life. For me, Yoga is about coming back to yourself. So many of us give and give, and we’re going, going all the time. We forget who we are.

Stepping onto the mat, I’m reminded to "just be" with myself again. In my classes I give detailed instruction to help bring awareness to the body and to the breath, allowing the mind to be present.

We build strength, find balance, and gain flexibility. We learn to embrace and experience the happenings in each moment. Through regular practice, I hope my students can take what they learn on the mat into their everyday life.

  • I discovered Bikram Yoga back in 2010. I was a distance runner & cardio queen with high anxiety that I managed with exercise & medicated with bulimia. A group of women in my Team-in-Training running club practiced Bikram regularly. I grew curious and joined for a class. I loved the idea of it, but mostly hated the actual practice of it for the first four months before it reeled me in & won me over. I put running on the backburner, quit my gym membership and completed my first 60 Day Yoga Challenge. 60 Classes in 60 Days. This was a monumental step forward on my journey to becoming a stronger, healthier version of me.

I kicked off my Yoga Teacher Training with a 200 hour RYT in 2020, which was the first of many programs, CE workshops and certifications. I practiced daily…(sometimes twice!), immersed in theory and waited for the right time to embark on the rigorous Holy Grail 500 Hour Official Bikram Yoga Teacher Training.

Stepping into an ownership role at HYSM launched me forward. I completed my 290 hour Original Hot Yoga Association certification and also my Inferno Hot Pilates training in Summer 2025.

For me, Bikram Yoga is a powerful tool to heal the body and strengthen the mind. It’s balancing. Grounding. Challenging. Empowering. Energizing. And so much FUN!! I can always find room to grow in my practice. Repetition is mastery. It never gets old!

  • Well my Yoga journey started back in November 2015.

In August 2015, I got severe pain in my lower back. It was so bad I could not even prep some breakfast for my kids in the morning. I went from doctor to doctor, got a CT scan and all what the doctors gave me were muscle relaxers. I took one pill and said there is no way I will take this again.

Then I found Airrosti and they had to break my muscles in my back because they were so tight up that they pressured on my spinal nerves. Doctor got me back in motion, but he told me I have to do exercises to keep the muscles flexible.

On my way back from my last visit with this doctor I drove through town and saw a Hot Yoga studio. Just opened that day!  So I stopped and basically told the owner, “Here I am. That’s me with a messed up back. I am scared  but I need help”

That’s the day I started Hot 26. It was a sign!!

I came back 4 times a week, month after month. I felt so good, my pain was gone, my mind was better.

The owner gave me so much motivation and engagement. She always corrected me in the right way. I am a very disciplined person, so it was the perfect way for me to grow in my practice and to become later a teacher for Hot26 and Yin.

Learning the dialogue was extra hard for me because English is my second language and I work a 40 hour job.

There were days I cried, but I am fighter!! And if I commit to something, I will finish no matter what.

I am so thankful for everyone and everything.

Hope to meet you all soon … maybe on a Saturday or Sunday soon for the Original Hot Full 90 or a Pop Up YIN!
