Elise - Yoga Flow
Meet Elise - She took her first yoga class at SAC in 2004 as a PE credit, and she just clicked with the practice! She has taught over 2,000 classes and has experienced incredible emotional and physical healing through the journey of her own practice.
She believes that yoga is about coming back to yourself and is passionate about guiding her students through your own process of building strength, balance and flexibility - both on and off the mat.
Who is Yoga Flow a good fit for?
Yoga Flow is based on traditional Hatha postures. It is a good fit for all people who want to gain strength, lose weight, reduce stress, become more flexible or tone their body. It’s helpful in improving ones physical and mental health; A good fit for anyone just beginning their journey, or wanting to advance their understanding of yoga and go deeper into their practice.
What should I focus on during a Yoga Flow class—my breath, my body, or both?
Both! As a teacher, I help bring awareness to your body through cuing and attention to details. I’ll remind your to bring your awareness back to your breath. :)
What benefits can I expect if I practice Yoga Flow regularly?
Reduced stress, more strength and flexibility. Also, the more you practice, the more you will notice yourself becoming reflective and more aware, in general, of yourself and all that’s around you.
What if I feel stiff or not flexible—can I still practice Yoga Flow?
Absolutely! Hatha yoga will help you work out your stiffness and soreness. It will help you gain strength that in turn helps you become more flexible. And beginner variations are always offered.
Is Yoga Flow more about exercise, or is it also about calming the mind?
I would say whatever brings you into a yoga class, you can find it. If exercise and losing weight is your goal, you will do that. If calming your mind and reducing stress is your goal, that happens, too!
